Microsoft refutes Google's assertion that Office 2010 lacks collaboration

Now, it is Microsoft versus search engine giant Google. All it started with the Google claiming that Office 2010 and Web Apps that is being produced by Microsoft lack the cloud-based collaboration capabilities. The purpose for issuing this statement was that to convince tech mavens that its Google Apps and Google Docs are better than Microsoft’s. As expected, Microsoft is incensed with this remark.

Now it has unleashed a campaign to put things straight. It is making all out effort to convince its users that Google is not telling the truth. Tracy Overby, senior marketing manager for Microsoft's Office Product Management Group said: "Microsoft delivers the best productivity experience and we have the results to prove it. After more than a decade of delivering collaboration solutions, our customers trust us to meet their business needs."

Facebook on mobile for free

Facebook has launched on Tuesday it’s stripped down version, 0.facebook.com, accessible through mobile phones without any extra data charges.

Facebook will be offering this free service to almost 50 countries in association with mobile operators in those countries including Brazil, India, Denmark, Greece, Finland, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Hungary and Indonesia.

In India, Facebook has teamed up with Reliance Communications and Videocon to allow users to access the site with zero data charges.

Pakistan bans YouTube, Facebook Websites

It may be very disappointing for all those Facebook and YouTube fans in Pakistan as the Pakistani government has blocked access to popular video sharing website YouTube and the social networking site Facebook after government came across some un-Islamic content on these websites.

On Wednesday, a Pakistani High Court ordered to block Facebook because the site encouraged people to post sketches of Prophet Muhammad which is strongly prohibited in Islam. While, on Thursday, Pakistan once again ordered to ban YouTube after they came across some ‘derogatory material’ on the site.

Lindsay Lohan passport stolen

Internationally-acclaimed actress Lindsay Lohan is in for trouble. Her woes started after she appeared at the Cannes Film Festival to announce a new film project. Reports have surfaced that her passport was stolen. Besides, she was also slated to make her court appearance.

But sources say that she has failed to do so due to some unreasonable reasons. However, the reason is still not known or made public. But the development can put the actor in real trouble as she has been warned she could face jail if she fails to make her appearance in Los Angeles. The order was imposed on her after a 2007 drinking driving case.

New Hotmail set to compete with Gmail

Microsoft's new Hotmail is set to launch this summer that will surely compete with the present game leaders Gmail and Yahoo.
